This
page is reserved for something I haven't
thought of - at least, not yet. Perhaps it is
somewhat like the typology of animals in
Foucault's famous essay in the preface to The Order of Things,
which includes among its categories "(h)
included in the present classification."
This, of course, leaves open the possibility
of animals not included in the present classification. Perhaps a future edition of the "Chinese encyclopaedia" containing the list of categories might have added a slot. The ancient Egyptians sometimes invoked "all the gods that exist and all the gods that do not exist."
Humans
like to have all the bases covered, so to
speak. So I have this page to cover bases
that may never exist, but I have already
defended against that possibility.
Or have I?
