The professors of writing tell me that a short story should be about one event. Well, “one event” is like beauty, except not that much fun. What is one event? Who says so? Why worry? Then too, maybe we should hope that some of these stories are not really about daily life. Some of them can get rather grim. Such is the example given here. |
